I missed the earlier question, but a good summary of the history of the
name, use and composition of "white bronze" and related nickel alloys can be
found in Chapter 6 of 'Metals in America's Historic Buildings', by Margot
Gayle and David Look. White bronze is an alloy of copper, nickel, zinc and
tin.
