I was referred to you by Tom Slemko.

I am a teacher for emotionally disturbed students in Las Vegas Nevada.
Three of my students are functionally illiterate. They are severely
impaired with social and emotional maladjustment that requires containment
in small and controlled setting for outbursts. I have arranged for them to
have donated 386sx based MSDOS systems with small hard drives (60 meg) and
640k ram given to them for use at home. At school they are using old Apple
IIe 128K systems with Echo boards and Talking Text Writer. I am seeking a
DOS product similar to Talking Text Writer. Everything I find is windows
based and requires expensive add ons. These families cannot afford this.
They probably would be stolen where they live if the parents and I could
arrange a better donation computer.

These students were initially placed for specific learning disabilities
when they entered elementary school. I read and use tapes for two of them.
They are intrigued and make some progress with the Talking Text Writer.

I can't believe that the Apple IIe Talking Text Writer wasn't copied for
the DOS machines somewhere. Please refer me to a vendor and software name
for a DOS product.

Thank you.
