hi-

i'm monitoring this list for a friend who has celiac's and doesn't want to wade
thru all the recipes, and i'm a newbie. but i'd like to know- aren't there ANY
alternative therapies out there that have worked for anyone? i'd love to
hear about any things that folks heard that have worked. he's not
looking for a cure and is quite willing and even content to keep eating
gluten free. it would just be great if he could feel healthier and less
under the weather, get some more nutrients, and maybe gain some weight

my friend faithfully avoids all gluten. he is terribly underweight and
seems to now be borderline for osteoporosis. he apparently needs to get
calcium and vitamin d, both, in his system , and cannot find any way to
ingest these without getting serious gastrointestinal reactions. are
there shots for these or other nutrients that he could be taking?

he goes to the mayo clinic yearly.

thank you!
