A Hard Drive that is only a little over 5/8 full doesn't need to be
compressed - unless you are planning on adding much more to it.

More important, when was the last time you backed up EVERYTHING, ran
SCANDISK, and DEFRAG.  If you have been adding, deleting, and modifying
files for a while, the disk will become fragmented (and thus spend more
time hopping from track to track looking for bits of files).  The Windows
swapfile is a prime culprit.  Some people banish it to its own partition.
