Just a thought but I am using an extrnal dsl modem connected to a basic
inexpensive 10meg ethernet card.  The windows install for the ethernet card may be
easier for Plug and Pray, more routine. Once installed, the dsl modem connects to
the ehernet card and windows does not need to "set up" the modem.
