Preservation - architect, engineer, carpenter, mason, plumber, researcher,
conservator, facility manager, actor, interpretor, project manager, commedian,
craftsperson, hardware specialist, teacher, historian...just about anything
you can hyphenate can find work to be done in preservation.  That's not the
same as a "career", it might even be better.

I suggest you look at the NPS's web sites that deal with training and
preservation technology.  They may have a list that appears to be
comprehensive.
