Hello--
From win2k pro, I can dial-up our company's remote LAN, connect to our
mail proxy, and get netscape 4.51 IMAP mail just fine. The problem is I
cannot map drives on the LAN [DNS doesn't seem to work; pinging machines
says "machine not found"]. I've got the dial-up networking set-up
*without* specifying a DNS location, b/c if that is specified, not even
the mail works anymore.
I have a local network here, w/ an IP address (bound to the ethernet
card in that machine) which is not similar to the remote LAN's.
The issue is, this exact set-up w/ all same specifications works
*perfectly* with winNT 4.0 spk3 or 5 or 6, drive mappings and all.
...is there some kind of extra authentication or something in win2k pro?
some security setting?
thanks for the help!!
