Years ago we used a Logitech handheld scanner to copy text and sketches from
old documents. The scanner covered roughly 1/2 of a page at a time. The image
quality was good, but the alignment of the two page halves, to create a
single page, with the "stitching" software was frustrating at best. We gave
up.

Maybe there's been some real improvement in software that makes it easier.
