Purchased an FIC 503+ motherboard (don't remember what BIOS version) K62/350
and 64 mb PC100. The company I purchased this package from preseated the
CPU and memory along with adjusting the jumpers. When I installed the rest
of the hardware (M G200, USR 56k, SB16, Seag 4.3, Mit 32x, 31/2), and turned
the power on nothing happened. Rechecked everything I put in and rechecked
the motherboard, and found that the sellers had put the 64mb SDRAM in DIMM
2. I checked the manual and it has DIMM 1 being used. Anyways changed
that, and the computer came on. Now the problem. Sometimes, not always,
when I restart Win98 or do a cold boot nothing comes up on the monitor and
the motherboard is beeping. The beep is a 2 sec interval beep. The manual
gives no interpretation of the error beeps. How come it does this sometimes
and not always and what does it mean?
Thanks
Marshall Anderson
