I ran Win98 with 32M RAM, before I upgraded to 64M RAM. I did not notice
any difference in performance after upgrading. I had a number of programs
installed besides the OS.
Later, 32M of my RAM was accidently dislodged, and I noticed a decrease
in performance. Summation: Win98 works with 32M RAM. With a minimal
number of programs Win98 with 32M RAM will not be slow. Adding more
programs can slow performance with only 32M RAM.
How you set up a system is also a consideration. I have had as high as 98
percent free resources with minimal RAM.
