Western Kansas ADAPT, along with Living Independently in Northwest
Kansas,
Inc. and the Western Kansas Association on Concerns of the Disabled,
held a
MiCASSA Kick Off  Press Conference in Hays, KS. With approximately 20
people
present, local advocates discussed S. 1935 and also tied into the
national
link.  We really got some great media for little Hays (pop. 18,000),
with a
small article in the local newspaper but a great piece on the only local
news station. Also two local radio stations played excerpts from the
press
conference many times over in the next few days.
