I've never seen that...
A few concerns though: What would the anchoring system look like? Would this
hold up during winter wind and storms? Would there be enough ventilation of
the porch area?

... in the Vineyard during the off-season, I considered removable plywood,
but it adds up to 48 plywood panels - which I would need to take up and down
anyway - not to mention keeping them painted.
Then I thought, WWMDD? - What Would Michael Davidson Do? And it occurred to
me that, being thrifty and resourceful, he might get some tarps made up with
some sort of fastening system (top and bottom), which would be a lot easier
and almost as raintight.
Has anyone ever seen this done? (And no, I don't mean 5 mil poly around your
rusty mobile home trailer held in place with hay bales.)

expensive)
