Hello David Nasser,
This thread is getting longer and longer. I think the key factor is your
won usage pattern. That varies from individual to another.
In my circumstances, my dual-CPU system is wonderful. Here's the way I use
it:
- one CPU running threads for downloading the usenet newsgroups contents
- another thread monitoring system
- another thread creating my new CDR
- second CPU running threads for my Diablo game
As you notice, my 4 task usage pattern allows me to do more with one
machine. Now if I have been using one CPU, I would have to forgo the
Diablo because it wouldn't be able to handle the load, resulting in a nice
new coaster.
