Sorry, but we have also encountered the beauracracy AND HYPOCRICY of the
'church'.
Here is and excerpt from the article:
The Archdiocese of Boston has told the family that the church cannot
substitute a rice communion wafer for the traditional wheat one, citing 2,000
years of tradition and faith.
One would have to wonder if one of their priests were caught in an
'uncompromising' position (oh how often this occurs, and oh how often it is
covered up), just how EASILY their rules would CHANGE !!!
We are still practicing Catholics, and we have PURCHASED the GF host
ourselves, only to encounter 'OOOPS' we forgot to bring it from the priests
and assistants virtually EVERY WEEK until we just plain GAVE UP..
Even though we've given up on taking the host, as we are quite confident that
God realizes our situation.
To say that they CANNOT make an exception is, sadly, an indication of how
self-important they beleive they are.
They should instead focus on what THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE REPRESENTING.
