A good friend of mine recently had her 3 yr. old son Carter, who has a speech
disorder and chronic sinusitis, tested for allergies. She was surprised when
results indicated reactions to gluten and casein. Results read as follows:
Test name: G Casein; Score 3335, class +2, normal 0-100
Test name: G Gluten; Score 4110, class +3, normal 0-100
Comment: 2G's, C/G
Test name: IGA to Casein; Score: 0, Reference range <1 titer normal
Test name: IGA to Gluten; Score: 0, Reference range <1 titer normal
My friend's Doctor basically said he doesn't put much stock in this "Rast"
testing. My friend, however, believes this could be at least part of her
son's problem. She insisted that the blood test for celiac be drawn, but now
she is waiting, waiting, waiting for the results. Can anyone out there shed
any light on this info? Many thanks for reading this long post, Betsy in
Florida
