CD-Changer keeps popping out

Hi!
We have a Torisan CD-ROM CDR-C3G which refuses to hold any CD in all of
its three drawers. The whole changer just pops out a second after any CD
(including CD lens cleaner) is inserted.
We deleted the three CD drives in Device Manager, re-booted and win98
correctly found new hardware. It did not help: any CD put into the changer
is promptly ejected.

Is it easy to repair that eject mechanism ? Is the whole changer ready for
retirement ?
