  The 440BX chipset was the first for Slot 1 to support 100 MHz.
Your board should allow for this option.

  Without a BIOS update, your board may mistake the P3-450 for a P2-
450; this *might* even prevent programs from taking advantage of the
new instructions added in the P3.

  The one other issue to verify is that the board supplies the
correct CPU voltage for the P3 -- since the design pre-dates the P3,
this *could* be an issue.
