Yes its really strange - I've never met such case before.
The HDD is the common Seagate 4.3 GB - model no. not available now. But I've
checked all available jumper settings - and they're for setting
master/slave/cable select. Nothing else. As for BIOS setting, I let it auto
detect hard disk.
I now believe the controller board has failed in some way. I'll try swapping
board if another of same model is available.
Besides that, anybody got any more advice ?
