   An adaptive test shouldn't be any harder or easier if you believe the
test designers. *;-) Personally I have only taken the beta adaptive
tests for A+ and I did find the questions slightly easier than the
traditional test (which I took also). I bet there will be some
finetuning when they examine the beta results. The CompTIA site explains
adaptive tests and it is a fairly accurate description of what adaptive
entails.

   Don't rush...another big change is that the tests are being revised
to eliminate some of the old stuff rarely seen (like Windows 3.1). But
if you feel comfortable and want the certification then don't hesitate
to take the tests before they revise it.
