Probably the power supply. In fact my wife had problems with her
computer similar to yours and I've seen this benavior (a completely
unresponsive system) in two situations. A bad power supply and a
motherboard short. Fortunately, power supplies are relatively cheap,
about $30 and since this is from a new case, I would demand that the
power supply be replaced. Be a hard case, it pays.
