James,
My ESS Maestro will not allow me to hear system events or initiate a wave
file while listening to mp3s. I have a Micron Transport Trek2, and it has
been a reliable machine. But I don't think the Maestro has the features you
are looking for. Good luck in your quest.
Regards,
Dan Ellis

Subject: [PCBUILD] lap top sound card question
I'm trying to find out if the Maestro sound card by Ess Technology can play
more then one wav file at the same time. I've looked on there web site
http://www.esstech.com with no results. On there site they also have a
link to ms where you can find more information about this card, but the
page is not very well written. I do a search for "ess technology" and I
get some links with "click here for more information", but when I click
nothing happens.
I need to play more then one wav file at a time such as playing a realaudio
program and hearing system events or better yet using software speech and
listening to other sounds such as realaudio, mp3 etc.
I'm trying to find a good high end lap top that can do this, but they all
seem to use the Ess Maestro sound card.
While on the subject of researching sound card and lap tops; Is there a
good web site to learn more and review whats a good buy and whats not?
