Don,

The skylight was a later addition, possibly a modernization of a former
skylight. The space was then one of the residences of Jay Chiat, the
advertising guy responsible for the Energizer bunny & Frank Purdue on TV. He
had an amazing collection of art. This is where I made the unconsious error
of gently kicking the Brillo box while looking at the ceiling, saying "I
can't see the water leak," and the architect went white.
