I have just given away my old HP 820 Cse Inkjet printer and I want to buy a
new Inkjet printer. It has been a long time since I paid any attention to
Inkjet printers and I need to bring myself up to speed as to technology and
features.. My primary day to day printer is a Epson Laser which does b/w
great so I am looking for a good color printer that is capable of printing
out photo quality prints on glossy paper ... something my 820 could not do
even though it was advertised as being able to do. This time I do not want
to buy in the high end A cursory look though the printers at CompUSA
seems to indicate that Inkjet technology has advanced dramatically since I
bought my 820CSe and it appears that more money buys durability, speed, and
more features that I am not going to use rather then better quality
output....or am I mistaken.
I really was not happy with my HP and would rather buy an Epson or a
Lenmark in the 150 dollar range unless there is a compelling reason not
too. Speed isn't important and it will just be for occasional personal use
when I want to print in color so heavy duty durability isn't an issue.
However I do want quality output and reliability. I would prefer something
that isn't going to dry up if it isn't used constantly...one of many
annoying things about my 820. The one feature that would be nice is a
network connection but I suspect only top of the line business printers
will have this feature. Are there other features I need that I haven't
thought of.
Am I asking for too much for too little money ? Advise, comments and
recommendations appreciated..
