Hi All,

I bought a foraging book from B&N and have been out in my back yard
looking at all my lovely weeds. So far I have found Lambs Quarters, Land
Cress, Mustard, Milk Weed and Catnip. I also came across some puffball
mushrooms and what I thought were Oyster Mushrooms. However, my
foraging book says Oyster Mushrooms grow primarily on trees or cut tree
stumps. These are growing in clusters in the grass all hidden by a high
weeds and grass. These look and smell just like Oyster Mushrooms, my
question is, do Oyster Mushrooms ONLY grow on trees? Or can they also
grow in clusters in the dirt? The book did not identify any poisonous
mushrooms that may look like Oyster Mushrooms.
Trish
