IRQ sharing?

I realized that my video card and the NIC were both having the same IRQ.
Although no conflict was shown in Windows, and there was no apparent
problem, I fixed it by changing the NIC from the last PCI slot to the first
one.
IŽd appreciate some comments on IRQ sharing and PCI slots.
