(I think that this is a hardware topic)
I need some advice before I reconfigure my PC.
Current setup -
IDE primary master - 10 gb hd - Has two FAT32 partitions c: and d: for
Win98SE
IDE primary slave - 15 gb hd - Mandrake Linux 7.2 (windows ignores this
drive)
IDE secondary master - CD-ROM (e:)
IDE secondary slave - CD-RW (f:)
Proposed -
IDE primary master - 10 gb hd - still two Windows partitions (c: and f:)
IDE primary slave - CD-ROM (d:)
IDE secondary master - 15 gb - as before
IDE secondary slave - CD-RW (e:)
The idea is to improve CD burning by putting the two CD drives on separate
channels.
Question: Will the change in assignments cause me any grief? Should I force
the two CD drives to be something like x: and y:? Although I'd rather not, I
could reinstall Windows.
