Not all CD-ROMs are autodetected without at least loading the drivers in
config.sys, This how I have it set up in my parents computer.

hard disk controllers where conflicting with each other and the computer was
intermitingly freezing until you disabled one of the hard disk controllers.
As i was looking at it i realized that it had two standard hard disk
controllers instead of what most systems have of one primary and one
secondary controller. How do i fix the problem and be able to use the cd
rom? Other than the fact of no cd-rom the rest of the system works. All help
would be welcomed.
