Hello everyone,
I have a computer in my shop that has me stumped. It is an AST P75 computer that is one that the chassis slides into the case which is part of the monitor and so it is all one unit. Sorry I don't have the model number, I didn't think to get it and I'm not there now. they brought it in for a memory upgrade, they also brought in the book and lit said it takes standard (70ns) 72 pin memory. It has 2 for meg chips installed in the first bank, we tried some memory in the 2nd bank in conjunction with their memory and got error beeps...no problem take it out and try some different memory, same thing.... removed their memory and tried two 8meg (70ns) chips in the first bank and got the error beeps.... re-installed their memory and now the computer won't beep or come up at all. The monitor lights so I know it is getting power so the sliding chassis is plugged in OK. No jumper for the CMOS I can find no battery I have seen and nothing in the book to help. It has me baffled... any ideas from this vast knowledge pool would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Rick
