This is an open letter to Prof. Chomsky.
I'm a french student doing my Phd in Géography. I'm
really infuenced by your analyses.
But as a french I suffer a lot your point of view
about the french intellectuals.
You are supporting a lot of causes all over the world.
With a good analyse every of theses causes seems to
have solutions in your oppinion. But in this case, no
solution!?
Do you thing, we, french students are really happy
about our situation. Do you thing we are happy to
acclaim our professors?
I'm studying the tourism in Lebanon. I would like to
show the amazing power of this sector and the way it's
used by the international firms to control countries
and specially developping countries. But this means to
give some of my political opinions. This means to use
a lot of techniques which come not from the geography.
It will certainly cost my a lot in my career. My
professors, the committee which will value my work
will not accept that.
All theses words just to ask you something : Your
criticism about the french intellectuals is really
true. And we, a great number of french students
(except the many rats who are living around the
mandarins) are the first to suffer this situation.
Please instead of condemning give us solutions, at
least help to change a situation in which we are more
victims than guilty.
JM. Ovazza
